INTENSIVE COLLEGE COMPOSITION I

FIRST-YEAR%20WRITING%20PROGRAM_edited.pn

Intensive College Composition I (ICCI) fulfills the same General Education requirement as College Composition I and is the first course in the two-course first-year writing sequence. ICCI meets three days a week and earns four credit hours toward graduation.

ICCI introduces you to a variety of writing forms and emphasizes writing as a process of exploring, engaging source material, drafting and revising. You will learn how to join academic and public conversations in an informed manner by working with other authors/texts while adding and supporting your own ideas. This course supports this activity by developing critical reading and thinking skills, introductory research skills, and an understanding of audience expectations for developed, informed, and engaging writing.
